The batista was super helpful, kind & knowledgeable. Will be back! Love the open, organic atmosphere.. the real plants are an awesome touch. I appreciate that the flavor comes from the roast itsself not by use of syrups

Wonderful place to be disdained by hipsters. Great coffee. Place is always full of people actually talking to one another, few people working on computers rather than the other way around. Really though, the coffee is pretty darn good.

Very cool place with a friendly staff. I tried the root beer coffee and the coffee tonic and loved them both. Unique and flavorful options. Please get merch so we can support you more!

When researching coffee spots in Detroit (as I do not live in the area), Anthology consistently came up as one of the best, particularly in terms of “third-wave” coffee. Didn’t disappoint! The espresso shot was delicious, and I had a good conversation with the barista who pointed me to some good beans to take with me for at-home pour overs. Also, they have a beautiful, spacious interior! If I lived in the area, I would come to work here all the time. Bring a hotspot, though, as there is no Wi-Fi.

Great food and coffee with even better service and atmosphere to match! Wonderful and friendly staff who are willing to help and services you as the customer. They have small but unique menu options that are sure to please any coffee lover. Can't forget to mention how good their bakery options are as well. If you're ever nearby, check them out.

Micro roasters that treat coffee like wine. Truly the best coffee I've found in the Midwest. The pastries (all gluten free), are consistently the best pastries in Eastern Market. If you're looking for a place to sit and enjoy a conversation or a moment to yourself, this is the spot.

I love caffeine and coffee and I'm learning about espresso. I received a generous gift of an assisted espresso machine for Father's Day and knew nothing. The barista at Anthology took the time to educate me about making espresso and choosing beans for it. Over the course of two visits, several taste tests and lots of espresso, they helped me feel comfortable that I was making a decent cup at home. The atmosphere was welcoming and I never felt out of place. Service was excellent. I left the store knowing more than when I walked in and an armful of wonderful, fresh roasted beans.
